Training and qualifications
Dr Woodbridge finished medicine at the University of Sydney in 2004. Next he worked at Royal North Shore Hospital. Specialist bone and joint training in Sydney ended in 2015. He then gained a specialist surgical fellowship. The award is from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Later he trained in the United Kingdom. First he completed extra hip replacement training at the Exeter Hip Unit. That unit designed the Exeter hip implant. Then he completed extra knee training with the Exeter Knee Unit. The posts covered first-time and revision hip and knee replacement. Keyhole knee surgery was part of that training too.
He is a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association. Membership also includes the Australian Medical Association. In addition he trained as a physiotherapist. That helps with assessment and early recovery plans. Still, it does not replace a physio after an operation.
